Our World is a Beautiful and Diverse Tapestry of People… And God Loves Them All!
For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.– John 3:16 (NIV)
Heavenly Father,
You are the God of all creation… ALL.
We praise you, and we ask Your intervention in the division that is choking–destroying–our world.
For God so loved the world…
Help us to seek understanding and to really listen–with respect–to those whose opinions are different from ours.
Help us to understand that our opinions are just that, opinions, something to which we are all entitled. Remind us that they are exactly that: Opinions and not necessarily truth.
For God so loved the world…
Remind us that You do not hold one country in a higher place of honor. Whether we live in the United States or Ukraine, in Canada or Congo, in Hungary or Haiti… we are all loved by You. You didn’t set one country apart to be your most beloved nation. You love all nations, corrupt or chaste.
For God so loved the world…
Help us to be truth seekers and not to lean in to media outlets that support our views only.
You alone are the Great Unifier. No president, prime minister, or king can unite as You can because only You have the power to change hearts… to REALLY change hearts.
For God so loved the world…
Help us, O Holy One, to see others as You see them, even if we don’t agree with them. Help us to be slow to judge and quick to recognize our own failings and shortcomings.
For God so loved the world…
Help us to pray for our leaders, even when we don’t agree with or even like them.
Help us to love our neighbor–meaning every single person on earth–as You love them.
For God so loved the world…
Remind us to take an astronaut’s view of our earthly home, acknowledging we are all part of the human race, a rich and diverse tapestry of cultures, faiths, skin colors, and opinions.
And on this Palm Sunday weekend, nudge our hearts to remember that You sent Your Son for ALL of us.
May we strive to live as unifiers and people who love… like You, our Creator and Father.
For God so loved the world…
