I believe in the power of prayer.
I aways try to pray God’s will, because I know that not all of my requests ARE His will, but He always shows me the way.
I have to be patient. We all do. Everything is in God’s timing.
As I write this post, I reflect on the Holy Yoga session I had this morning with a group of beautiful sisters in Christ. As a certified Holy Yoga instructor, I love being a “yoga teacher and gospel preacher!” I know some women come just for the spiritual nourishment and even Christian community.
Today’s focus was on persistent prayers. We breathed, flowed, and experienced stillness in the stories of Hannah and King David, along with words from Jesus and Paul. I held a lot of space for all of us to pour out our persistent prayers in the silence of our hearts before God.
I was thinking about how there are prayers in my life up that have been consistent but not necessarily persistent. The parable of the persistent widow that Jesus taught to illustrate the importance of persistent prayer is sticking with me.
Ask, and you shall receive, Knock, and the door will be opened.
Two persistent prayers I have had for years were for two very special people in my life. One is my son, who finally sought help for his alcohol issues and is now over 2.5 year proudly and humbly sober.
Thank you, Father.
Another persistent prayer I prayed for many years was for a lovely young girl who’s now a wife and mother. I prayed she would come to know God after years of some childhood trauma; and praise God, she is now married to a wonderful Christian man, is thriving in her art career, and she and her husband create daily a home filled with love and faith.
Amen.
Ask, and you shall receive. Knock, and the door will be opened.
Keep knocking.
